GR-BAT is the family of EOD suits (explosive ordnance disposal suits) made by Garanti Kompozit, a Turkish manufacturer that AHCEBRIAN S.L. represents commercially. Its two bomb disposal suits, the GR-BAT.05 and the GR-BAT.06, share a flame-retardant meta-aramid outer shell and a helmet with visor, ventilation, lights, camera and communication. The GR-BAT.05 is the basic configuration. The GR-BAT.06 adds a removable camera and live video, by cable or wireless, to the command post. It also accepts CBRN and cooling options. In October 2026, Garanti presented the family on LinkedIn.

In short

  • Same base suit: Garanti's bomb suit with helmet and visor comes as the GR-BAT.05 and the GR-BAT.06.
  • What is public: a video from Anadolu Agency and three studio photos, on LinkedIn.
  • What is not public: protection levels, test results and weights per part. These go only to authorised units.

What Garanti Kompozit has shown on LinkedIn

Garanti Kompozit published two LinkedIn posts about its EOD suits in October 2026. In the first post, it shared a video from Anadolu Agency (AA) about a bomb disposal suit made in Turkey. Garanti describes it as a suit designed for the harsh working conditions of bomb technicians, combining protection, mobility and comfort. It also stresses that the engineering and the production are Turkish.

In the second post, in mid-October, Garanti presented the full GR-BAT family with three studio photos. It describes an ergonomic, modular design. The range goes from the basic GR-BAT.05 to CBRN-ready configurations and the GR-BAT.06, with wired and wireless audio and video.

What the Anadolu Agency report said about the suit

The Anadolu Agency report of 2 October 2026 (in Turkish) presents a bomb disposal suit developed in Yerköy (Yozgat province). It was made for the bomb disposal teams of the Turkish General Directorate of Security (Emniyet Genel Müdürlüğü, the Turkish National Police) and was exhibited at TEKNOFEST in Şanlıurfa. The person speaking in the report is a chief superintendent from that Directorate's bomb disposal unit.

According to AA and the chief superintendent, the suit weighs 33 kg, about 5 kg less than the imported suit the teams used before. Also according to the report, it protects against the effects of 10 kg of explosive at 3 m, and it combines a special fibre with flame-retardant Kevlar. The report adds that it has a climate control system for long periods of use.

Two points to note. These figures come from the news report. They are not specifications from Garanti or from AHCEBRIAN. Also, the report does not name the manufacturer. Garanti shared the report, and the Garanti plant is in Yerköy, but the report does not say which model appears in the video.

Which parts make up the GR-BAT.05 suit

The GR-BAT.05 brochure lists the following parts, in addition to the helmet and visor (next section). The GR-BAT.06 includes all of them:

Part

What the brochure says

Jacket

Covers the whole torso and the neck; pockets for radio, phone and spare battery

Chest and groin plates

Composite plates that go into pockets in the jacket and overlap when the user bends down

Trousers with boot covers

Adjustable braces, elastic waist and integrated adjustable spine protection

Groin protector, gloves

The groin protector attaches to the trousers with hook-and-loop; the gloves are easy to remove

Balaclavas

Meta-aramid knit; three per suit

Anti-fragment underwear

Optional; UHMWPE fibre knit, top and bottom

Cables, battery and control panel

The battery sits in a jacket pocket; the panel attaches to the arm with hook-and-loop and has night lighting, a fault warning and a battery indicator

Carry bags

Two, in polyamide 6.6: one for the helmet and one for the rest

The outer shell is meta-aramid ripstop fabric with permanent flame retardancy. The jacket and the trousers have quick-release zips for emergency removal. According to the manufacturer, the suit is designed for users from 170 to 190 cm tall and from 65 to 100 kg. For more on UHMWPE, see materials for ballistic plates and helmets.

What the EOD suit helmet includes

The helmet carries most of the electronics. According to the GR-BAT.05 brochure:

  • Ventilation with adjustable speed and a turbo mode.
  • Lighting with white and ultraviolet LEDs, dimmable, together or separately.
  • Front camera with 1080p resolution and a 140° angle, recording to an SD card and transmitting over Wi-Fi.
  • Communication with a push-to-talk (PTT) button and automatic noise reduction.
  • Visor: enlarged, opens to several positions, with a demister and anti-fog liners.
  • Interior padding, flame-retardant, in three thicknesses, and a four-point chin strap with magnetic buckle.

What the GR-BAT.06 and the CBRN-ready version add

The GR-BAT.06 keeps the same suit and changes the helmet. The camera is removable, and live video reaches the command post, by cable or wireless, from more than 100 m away. The outer shell is also antistatic, and sizes and colours are available on request.

Its brochure lists several options: a CBRN visor, a three-piece cooling suit (hood, top and bottom), CBRN underwear, and wired or wireless communication with a neck microphone.

In its October post, Garanti also presents CBRN-ready configurations as a separate option from the GR-BAT.05 and the GR-BAT.06. Its brochures do not say which model they are based on, so it is worth asking in your enquiry. Our recommendation: if your unit works with chemical risk or long periods in heat, ask for the GR-BAT.06 or the CBRN configuration data sheet, not the GR-BAT.05 data sheet. The GR-BAT.05 brochure does not include the cooling suit or the CBRN options.

Is the GR-BAT.04 a bomb disposal suit?

No. The GR-BAT.04 lightweight modular suit has fourteen ballistic components, a helmet, a visor, goggles and two plates. Garanti intends it for reconnaissance and search; it does not replace a bomb disposal suit.

How to request the GR-BAT data sheet

Protection performance, test results and weights per part are not published. They are sent with the test reports to the buying unit, once it is identified and has the required authorisations. No suit protects against every threat: the data sheet states what each part was tested against.

You can see the full range on the Garanti Kompozit explosive ordnance disposal line. To request the data sheet:

  1. State which organisation or company you represent, the intended use and the quantities.
  2. Say which version you are interested in (GR-BAT.05, GR-BAT.06 or CBRN configuration) and which options you need.
  3. State the sizes and the colour, if the standard ones do not suit you.
  4. Ask which tests support each part and in which report.
