UD polyethylene fabric
Garanti Kompozit produces its own unidirectional (UD) ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene fabric in an integrated, high-capacity plant. It is the raw material for its vests, plates, shields and helmets and for its vehicle and aircraft armour, and it is tested in the company’s own ballistic laboratory.

Where it is used
- Vests and soft protection
- Ballistic plates and shields
- Ballistic helmets
- Vehicle and aircraft armour
Where the fabric ends up
Soft armour
Panels for vests and for chest, back, shoulder, groin, waist and neck protection.
Hard armour
Front, back and side plates, ballistic shields and protective briefcases, pressed in the same plant.
Helmets
ACH, ECH and PASGT ballistic helmets and the rifle-resistant helmet.
Vehicles and aircraft
Spall liners, add-on armour and protection for floors, seats, side panels and cockpit doors.
The fabric is made for the manufacturer’s own protection products. If your project needs UD fabric, availability and specifications are discussed case by case, subject to the applicable authorisations.
