Laboratory testing for third parties
Garanti Kompozit opens the laboratories it uses to control its own production to other manufacturers and buyers. There are four (textile, environmental, personal protection ballistics and vehicle ballistics, with a 70 m covered tunnel), and they work to standardised methods (EN, ISO and MIL-STD). They can be used to validate a fabric or a piece of equipment ahead of a tender, compare suppliers or check an incoming batch, with a test report issued by the laboratory.
Textile laboratory
29 tests on fabrics, yarns, zips and garments, 4 of them using in-house methods designed for service clothing. Among them: thermal and water-vapour resistance (EN ISO 11092), resistance to water penetration (EN ISO 811) and air permeability (EN ISO 9237).
- Abrasion and pilling (Martindale)
- Tear, tensile and yarn strength
- Colour fastness to washing, perspiration, rubbing and light
- Zips (EN 16732) and down composition (EN 12131)
- In-house methods: 70 °C and 90% RH, −40 °C with 1,500 flex cycles, contamination with fuels and oils
Environmental laboratory
Environmental conditions testing to MIL-STD-810 G and H for equipment, cases and field materiel. These include high and low temperature in operation and storage, thermal shock, humidity, immersion, dust, sand, rain, vibration and shock. Also low pressure, transit drop and loose cargo.
Ballistic laboratories
The manufacturer also has two ballistic laboratories, for personal protection and for vehicle armour (the latter with a 70 m covered tunnel). Ballistic testing for third parties is assessed case by case, only for authorised organisations and companies and with the licences that shipping the samples requires.

About Laboratory testing for third parties
Will the report show the test as accredited?
It depends on the method. Before you commission it, we confirm in writing whether the laboratory holds accreditation for that method on the test date and send you the certificate and its technical annex. Only the methods listed in the annex appear as accredited in the report.
Can I request a test without buying Garanti Kompozit products?
Yes. The service is independent of any purchase: the laboratory tests material from other manufacturers.
